Our story begins not in laboratories, but in a mother’s arms. In 2017, Idorenyin Ibanga watched her daughter’s scalp blister after a chemical relaxer meant to “tame” her texture. The pain was unbearable but it birthed a purpose.That was when Idorenyin made a life-changing decision not just for her daughter, but for thousands who would later trust Adan Idet with their hair.
Idorenyin, who had relaxed her own hair for over 10 years, began to explore natural hair care. She found herself drawn to the boldness of women who wore their natural hair unapologetically. Their pride and confidence ignited something deep within her. She began to learn reading, researching, and relearning everything she thought she knew about hair. In May 2018, she did her mid-chop. Adan Idet was born from that moment.
What began as a mother’s search for safer solutions became a movement rooted in heritage, empowerment, and care. Today, we’re honored to be recognized as one of Africa’s Top 100 Haircare Brands but our greatest achievement is helping our community wear their crowns with pride.
The name Adán Idét means “hair products” in Ibibio,Annang and Efik dialects from Southern Nigeria. It’s a nod to my roots, and a reminder that our beauty is ours to define. Since launching in 2019, we’ve grown from a small kitchen lab to becoming a trusted brand stocked in multiple locations across Nigeria and the diaspora. Every product is made with care, backed by science, and rooted in our belief that healthy hair isn’t just a look it’s a lifestyle.

Meet The Founder
Idorenyin Ibanga is the visionary founder and lead formulator behind Adan Idet Haircare a proudly Nigerian brand delivering high-performance, Trado-science backed hair care solutions tailored specifically for African hair textures.
With a B.Sc. in Mass Communication and a Diploma in Organic Hair Care Formulation from the prestigious Formula Botanica UK. She is currently studying Chemistry at BTI, Abuja Centre deepening her commitment to Tradoscience evidence-based beauty.
Driven by a passion for clean, intentional hair care and a desire to restore confidence in natural beauty, Idorenyin has grown Adan Idet into a trusted, award-winning brand known for its authenticity, visible results, and customer-first philosophy.
But her impact goes beyond the lab. Idorenyin is deeply committed to educating and empowering others, especially aspiring formulators, naturals, and beauty entrepreneurs across Africa. Through her work, she helps others reclaim their hair journey with knowledge, pride, and purpose.
